Global Challenge

Serve the City Center

What is it?

  • A community center in downtown Livermore
  • A joint project with Vineyard Christian Fellowship to reach the homeless, the needy, and the working poor of our hometown.

Where is it?

  • Vineyard Christian Fellowship, 460 N. Livermore Ave. Livermore, CA 94551

Our vision and goals:

  • Bring the love of Jesus into our community.
  • Connect our congregation with people who have needs in our own community.
  • Build relationships with those in the neighborhood around the Center.
  • We hope to provide:
    • A resource center for individuals and families
    • Food and clothing programs
    • Recreational activities.
    • English as a second language classes.
    • Bible Studies

First steps taken to connect with the community:

  • Monday mornings: The homeless are welcome to take a shower, enjoy coffee and a light breakfast, and choose clothing from the clothing closet.
  • Monday evenings: Free neighborhood BBQ from 4:30pm - 6:30pm.We are welcoming the local community to join us for dinner, music, fellowship and activities for the children. During the BBQ we also get to know the neighbors and learn more about their needs so that we can then follow-up with those families.

Opportunities to serve:

  • Volunteer to serve at the Monday BBQ's.
  • Donations of food, clothing, etc. for specific families.
  • Give financially to offset the cost of the BBQ's. Give now
  • List of needed donations
